  • A few weeks ago my heater of 21 years died! I called Steele A/C & Heat to come and look at it. I ended up purchasing a new one since it was so old. First of all, I was very pleased that they actually showed up when they said they would. I had the new one installed two days later and I love it. The service was great, very prompt, reasonably priced, and great warranty and very courteous. Francis also noticed an issue I had with my air conditioner and repaired that for me.   • I can't say enough good things about Steele A/C and Heating! On July 8, 2016, our upstairs A/C unit went out, in the middle of the 100+ degree Houston summer. We called another A/C company to come out to diagnose and repair our A/C unit. The technician from told us that the compressor was shot and that the entire unit needed to be replaced. On Saturday, July 9th, one of their salesmen (or as they like to call it a Comfort Specialist) came out to our house and gave us a price quote for replacing our unit (which was only 10 years old). The price quote was for approximately $10,000. The salesman also tried to talk us into replacing the downstairs unit also, saying that it would be better to get the entire A/C and heating system replaced all at once, with a new 25 year warranty. I decided to get a second opinion before committing to spending that much money. I called Steele A/C and Heating to request that they set up an appointment to give us an opinion on whether or not the system needed to be replaced. This was on a Sunday and I expected to just get an answering service and that I would get a call back on Monday. However, much to my surprise, the number I called was actually the owner's cell phone. I spoke with the owner, Mr. Steele, and explained the situation. He said that he didn't normally work on Sunday, but since he lived only about 2 miles from my house, he would stop by my house on his way home later that evening. Mr. Steele showed up about 7:00pm on a SUNDAY night and triaged our A/C unit. He determined what was wrong with it in about 10 minutes and he said that he could fix it and that he could have the part he needed to fix it by the following day. He came out and fixed our A/C unit on Monday and it only required the replacement on one part, which cost $437 (parts and labor). He had our A/C system working in less than a half an hour. Thanks to this HONEST and very professional businessman, he saved us form a $10,000 mistake! I couldn't be more happy! Mr. Steele also told us that a 10 year old system should not have to be replaced and that we should easily get another 5 or more years out of it. He recommended yearly preventative maintenance checkups in the Spring each year. You can bet that I will be calling Mr. Steele again next Spring to come out and check out our A/C system. As I told Mr. Steele when he left our house.... "You're my new A/C guy"!!
